DE403:Creating a series of 4 illustrations based on one particular subject.

CELIA: In a series of small illustrated books I will be dealing with human behavior, morality and manners. I plan to deal with these subjects in a microcosmic manner through the use of children’s books: nursery rhymes and alphabet books.

CONNIE: Developing and illustrating a comic book/graphic novel based on unpublished yet story written by Tim Green.

JOSE: I am developing a short film about a dog and his owner and how they view their urban environment. I am directing and producing the film using the tools I have developed as an illustrator and motion designer. All the supporting assets, (screenplay, concept drawings, paintings, 3d models, storyboards, and animatic) will be included in the final BFA presentation.

MATT: My thesis For my BFA show is based on Editorial Illustration. I am creating a series of Illustrations in a style that goes through a process of steps that include Analog and Digital rendering. I am focusing on articles that deal with the sciences, media, and human / animal interest.

ROSA: I am using these illustrations to demonstrate that children appreciate high emotional content in there stories. There is a common misconception that children’s thought processes are the same as adults, but there emotions are less developed when in fact children have the same emotional complexity as adults. Stories that address these complex emotions and show characters dealing with them are fascinating to young minds. I am illustration pieces of classical stories and stories that I have written that address this issue.

TIM: idea: In an aviary exhibit there’s two ‘clicks’ of birds separated by a path.  One side is a warmer and tropical with 3 characters: Hummingbird, Crane, and a Tropical Bird.  The other side is a cooler and darker feeling area with 2 characters: a Weaver Bird and a crowd of generic little birds that act as a collective. concept: I will develop all five characters using traditional animation and film processes of illustration exploration refined to character sheets.
