DE 403 – Illustration Studio III

A studio class focused on the development of conceptualization, stylization and technical ability and issues involving commerce and art. Stylistic consistency is stressed through a thorough exploration of color families and value, message/concept, use of medium and composition. Coursework consists of 4 illustrative projects covering a wide range of publishing, corporate and editorial applications.

 

DE 404 – Illustration Studio IV

This course focuses on the creation of a cohesive independent thesis project. Students utilize thematic, narrative and stylistic approaches to create a body of work that clearly states the illustrator’s voice and vision. The thesis process enhances the student’s understanding of and ability to develop cohesive works that relate on conceptual, stylistic and technical levels while furthering a facility with a chosen medium. Research and conceptual exploration are emphasized.
